Munich, Germany

XO Life GmbH, the Munich-based digital health company behind the brite™ platform, today announces the official nationwide launch of its cooperation with the Bundesverband der Pneumologie, Schlaf- und Beatmungsmedizin e.V. (BdP), the Federal Association of Pulmonologists, Sleep and Respiratory Medicine in Germany. The partnership marks a significant milestone in XO Life's mission to connect patients with verified, continuous digital therapy support and represents one of the most substantial medical society partnerships in the German digital health landscape.

The goal of the collaboration is to improve care for patients living with asthma and COPD through structured digital support that provides evidence-based knowledge and meaningful insights into the course of their treatment, while simultaneously reducing the administrative burden on physicians in their daily practice.

From Pilot to Nationwide Rollout in Two Months

The speed of the rollout reflects the urgency and scale of the unmet need. Following a pilot phase with participating pulmonology practices, demand from patients was immediately and consistently high. On average, approximately three patients per practice expressed interest in the free brite™ service every single day during the pilot phase. Based on this response, the decision was taken to expand the cooperation nationwide after just two months, making brite™ available to asthma and COPD patients across Germany through the recommendation of their treating pulmonologist.

Pulmonology practices across Germany can now recommend the brite™ app to their patients as part of their standard care pathway. Following a free registration, patients gain access to evidence-based, clearly presented information about asthma and COPD, medication reminder functions, and regularly recurring validated questionnaires tracking their condition and therapy progression over time.

Digital Companion Meets Real-World Data Collection for Registries

The need for reliable, accessible information and continuous daily support is particularly pronounced among patients with chronic respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD, who must manage their therapy consistently over long periods of time with limited structured support between clinical appointments. brite™ addresses this gap directly, accompanying patients throughout their therapy journey in a way that a prescription leaflet or a periodic clinical visit cannot.

Beyond individual patient support, the data collected through brite™ can be shared as a structured health report with the treating physician, giving clinicians meaningful real-world insight into their patients' therapy progression without any additional administrative effort. At an aggregate level, the patient-reported outcome data generated through the platform contributes directly to health services research and can be used to enrich national-level registries with structured real-world evidence from everyday clinical practice, strengthening the evidence base for pulmonology care in Germany.

No Additional Workload for Physicians — Better Informed Patients

A central objective of the partnership is to make the integration of digital solutions into everyday clinical practice as straightforward and value-creating as possible. The use of brite™ places no additional administrative burden on physicians. Instead, practices benefit from better informed and more therapy-adherent patients, as well as structured therapy progression data generated through everyday app use that is shared directly with the practice, enriching the clinical picture without requiring any additional effort from the physician.

"This partnership is the result of a shared conviction that patients with chronic respiratory conditions deserve continuous, verified, and clinically credible digital support throughout their therapy journey. The demand we saw during the pilot phase confirmed what we already knew: patients want this kind of support, physicians value the insights it generates, and the healthcare system benefits from the real-world evidence it produces. We are proud to be making this available to every asthma and COPD patient in Germany."— Dr. med. Lisa M. Köhler, Head of Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance, XO Life GmbH
